Innledning
The following required coursework must be approved before the student can take the exam:
- All planned seminars must be completed.
- The given exercises must be passed
Forkunnskapskrav
One external and one internal examiner will assess a minimum of 20 % of the exam papers. The remaining papers will be assessed by two internal examiners. The external examiner's assessment shall benefit all the students.
Læringsutbytte
The paper will be assessed by the course coordinator and a member of the academic staff with relevant genre competence.

Target group
The target group is PhD-candidates at OsloMet, as well as PhD-candidates associated with the Center for Welfare and Labour Research (SVA) and candidates from other universities and university colleges. In addition, non-PhD-candidates may apply for admission to the course if space is available.
Admission requirements
The admission requirement is a five-year master’s degree (three years + two years) or equivalent qualifications in teacher education, other pedagogical education, educational science, development studies, or other education on equivalent level in subjects relevant for teacher education.
In case of a large number of applicants, PhD-students enrolled in the PhD programme in Educational Sciences for Teacher Education will be prioritized, then students in other PhD-programmes, then academic employees at the Faculty of Teacher Education and International Studies.
Applicants that are not enrolled on the PhD-programme at the Faculty of Education and International Studies at OsloMet must send a summary in English of maximum one A4 sheet with relevant information about their own project / area of interest, containing topic, methodology, theoretical approach, and why this course might be relevant for their project.
Arbeidskrav og obligatoriske aktiviteter
Internal examination, with two examiners present. External examiner is used periodically.
Vurdering og eksamen
Students should be aware that a master's;degree in a related engineering discipline (electrical, construction, building services, architectural engineering or renewable energy) and relevant undergraduate courses covering the topics of basic indoor climate, and heat and mass transfer is recommended in order to complete this course.
Hjelpemidler ved eksamen
The course includes the following specific topics:
- indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and health for human occupants: in-depth study of indoor air quality (IAQ), user control, thermal preferences and adaption. Advanced methods for field studies of IEQ/IAQ.
- design of building envelopes, including building form, materials and their environmental assessment, and climate-adaption.
- HVAC and building automation, including demand-control, automated commissioning, and optimisation of operation and facilities management.
- building-integrated and city-wide renewable energy supply, including solar energy and energy storage.
- methods for numerical simulation of indoor climate and energy use in buildings
- theory and application of life-cycle analysis (LCA), and its methodological issues

Sensorordning
Det benyttes en intern og en ekstern sensor til sensurering av besvarelsene.
Et uttrekk på minst 25 % av besvarelsene sensureres av to sensorer. Karakterene på de besvarelsene som er vurdert skal danne grunnlag for å fastsette nivå på resten av besvarelsene.
