Emnet er en grunnleggende praktisk og teoretisk innføring i medieproduksjon, digitale bilder, bruk av sosiale medier som kommunikasjonsverktøy, samt video- og lydproduksjon.

Emnet gis i samarbeid med Medieseksjonen ved OsloMet.

Participation during class sessions is mandatory. Students who have more than 20 percent absence from class sessions will have to hand in an additional assignment.  Students who have more than 25 percent absence from class sessions will  not be qualified to take the exam.

The coursework requirements consist of three obligatory assignments. Two of the assignments will be practical and one theoretical. The theoretical assignment will be an individual 3-4 pages discussion based on the course literature. The practical assignments will be conducted in groups. One will be an analytical study of disinformation with a group presentation of around 15 minutes, and the other a fact-checking exercise resulting in a group report of around 2-3 pages. The purpose of the assignments is to prepare the student for the exam. All three assignments must be handed in within the deadline and approved before the student can take the exam.

If the assignment is not approved, the student may hand in a new, improved version within a set deadline. In the event of illness or other documented absence for compelling reasons, special deadlines can be agreed with the lecturer. If a student fails to submit work within the deadline stipulated in the course plan or agreed with the lecturer, the assignment cannot be submitted, and the student will lose the right to take the exam.

On completion of the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:

Knowledge

The student:

• has insight into different areas of professional expertise that are relevant to the development of projects
• has insight into the structure and values of an enterprise or an educational institution

Skills

The student:

• can make a constructive contribution in the enterprise/other educational institution
• can discuss and reflect on different cultural and ethical perspectives, work methods, cooperation and the understanding of roles internally in the enterprise/other educational institution

General competence

The student:

• has an understanding of work in the field in commercial contexts/specialisation in the field from another educational institution
• can plan and carry out varied tasks and projects that take place over time, individually or in teams, and in accordance with ethical requiremtns and guidelines.

This course has mandatory requirements that needs to be fullfilled in order to take the exam:

• Compulsory attendance in the internship at an enterprise or other educational institution. The student cannot be absent for more than 10 per cent of the course.
• Four status reports/logs must be sent to the internship lecturer during the period.

All aids are permitted, provided the rules for source referencing are met.
