Innledning
The topic is compulsory in the 4th semester of the Bachelor Programme, and is one of the courses exchange students may choose. Tuition is in English.
The course provides an introduction to the theories of information and communication used in the public and private sectors.

Arbeids- og undervisningsformer
The course lasts one semester, and consists mainly of lectures, group work, excursions, and self-tuition of syllabus. The group work is linked with themes from lectures and syllabus. To ensure that students profit from continuity and acquire necessary knowledge, skills and competence, attendance is compulsory. Absence exceeding 20% results in loss of exam rights.
Arbeidskrav og obligatoriske aktiviteter
As coursework requirements, three short individual papers are completed during the semester, each approximately 750 words (3 pages). All three papers must be written in English. These are submitted in Canvas within a settled deadline. One of the papers must also be presented orally in English as a short address (maximum 10 minutes) to participants, supported by use of audiovisual equipment (PowerPoint, web pages, film / video) and selected social media.
The coursework requirements are approved by the course leader.
All coursework requirements and the topic of the term paper must be approved before the student may sit for the exam.
Vurdering og eksamen
Individual, written term assignment: During the semester, every student must complete an individual term assignment of about 3,500-4,000 words (10-12 pages). The assignment must be written in English.
Students who have failed to pass the ordinary examination and students with legitimate absence are entitled to a new examination.
Hjelpemidler ved eksamen
All utilitites allowed as long as rules for source reference are followed.
Vurderingsuttrykk
The evaluation is graded according a scale from A to E for passed and F for not passed.
Sensorordning
The term assignment is assessed by an internal and an external examiner.
