Introduction
Studenten skal etter å ha fullført emnet ha følgende totale læringsutbytte definert i kunnskap, ferdigheter og generell kompetanse:

• har kunnskap om ulike digitale mediers kommunikasjonspotensiale
• har innsikt i opphavsrett og betingelser for digital publisering
• har kunnskap om hvordan bibliotek formidler sine samlinger på nett og gjennom digitale medier

Studenten
• kan vurdere hva slags formidling som egner seg i hvilke kanaler, og for hvem
• kan reflektere kritisk over relevans og effekt av formidling i digitale kanaler
• kan planlegge og bidra til å gjennomføre digitale arrangementer
Generell kompetanse
• kan delta i offentlige debatter med egne refleksjoner om digital formidling
• kan anvende teoretisk stoff i praktisk yrkesutøvelse

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and competence:
Knowledge
The student:
- has a fundamental understanding of what lies in personal data protection, and what good personal data protection is
- has knowledge of how personal data and identity management are connected
- has a fundamental understanding of how technology supports good personal data protection and secure identity (Personal data technology and identity technology)
- is aware of ethical as well as legal aspects of personal data, including the GDPR
- is aware of how personal data protection technology is used/can be used in business and industry, and in public administration
Skills
The student is capable of:
- implementing simple application of identity technology. For instance: how to use two-factor authentication, biometrics etc.
- using data protection and identity technology in areas of application such as handling consent, connecting several sources together to ascertain the correct identity etc.
General competence
The student is capable of:
- applying his/her knowledge of data protection and identity technology to solve problems relevant for business and industry/society
Teaching and learning methods
For å kunne framstille seg til eksamen må studenten ha følgende godkjente arbeidskrav:
Arbeidskrav 1: Individuell oppgave. Formidle litteratur til en definert målgruppe, via et digitalt medium. Studentene velger selv form, innhold og kanal. Formidlingen kan enten gjennomføres i jobbsammenheng eller beskrives i form av en mockup (visuell skisse).
Arbeidskrav 2: Arbeid i mindre grupper (4-5 studenter). Gruppene skal planlegge et arrangement i et bibliotek eller tilsvarende arena. Arrangementet kan være fysisk, digitalt eller begge deler, men fysiske arrangement skal formidles digitalt. Arrangementet kan planlegges inn i en realistisk jobbsammenheng. Arbeidet skal resultere i en rapport (4-6 sider) som redegjør for programinnhold, markedsføring, teknologivalg og kanaler for den digitale formidlingen.
Arbeidskrav 3: Hverandrevurdering. Hver student skal gi skriftlig tilbakemelding (inntil én side) på arbeidskrav 2 hos én gruppe.
Arbeidskravene må være gjennomført og godkjent innen fastlagt frist for at studenten skal kunne framstille seg til eksamen. Dersom et eller flere arbeidskrav ikke blir godkjent, gis det anledning til å kunne levere en forbedret versjon én gang innen angitt frist.
Course requirements
Eksamen i emnet er en skriftlig individuell semesteroppgave med et omfang på 6 - 8 sider inkludert mellomrom. Skrifttype og skriftstørrelse: Arial / Calibri 12pkt. Linjeavstand: 1,5. Studentene velger selv tema for oppgaven som må godkjennes av faglærer.
En student kan ved ikke bestått levere omarbeidet versjon av oppgaven til sensur én gang.
Assessment
Alle hjelpemidler er tillatt så lenge regler for kildehenvisning følges.
Permitted exam materials and equipment
This course covers the role of pharmaceuticals in the prevention and treatment of illness from an individual and societal perspective. Emphasis is placed on subjects in the field of social pharmacy and medicine epidemiology. The course focuses on users of pharmaceuticals in different phases of life and with different illnesses, particularly on individually adapted follow-up and information on correct use of pharmaceuticals. The general subject matter is examined from a societal perspective in relation to medication and medicalisation of different life situations and groups of illnesses. Statistical concepts, epidemiology and critical assessment of articles are also covered in the course.

Passed first and second year of the programme or equivalent.

- is familiar with the routines and procedures for medication reviews and discussions
- can give an account of the information needs of pharmaceutical users in different life situations and with different illnesses
- can explain key concepts in the field of epidemiological methodology
- can explain ethical dilemmas relevant to epidemiological research
- can explain key statistical concepts in medical statistics
- is familiar with clinical testing of pharmaceuticals and the pertaining collection of and requirements relating to documentation
- is familiar with the concept of health competence and how variations in health competence influence different patients’ and user groups’ coping with disease, mastery and self-care
- is familiar with the import, economics and pricing of pharmaceuticals
- is familiar with the research processes involved in pre-clinical and clinical studies, the requirements for approval of pharmaceuticals and plant-based products and how pharmaceuticals are marketed
Skills
The student
- can carry out source searches and provide information to pharmaceutical users in different life situations and with different illnesses, and with varying information needs
- can apply epidemiological concepts
- can apply digital tools in statistical calculations and graphical presentations of prescription statistics and other figures that concern the use of pharmaceuticals
- can use evidence-based subject matter and innovation in project work, communicate this and contribute to professional discussions
General competence
The student
- shows an understanding of issues relating to pharmaceuticals from an individual and social perspective
- can reflect on the correct use of pharmaceuticals in special groups of patients
- can reflect on the quality and validity of information provided by different sources
