  • Innledning

    Econometrics is a methodology course that deals with the use of economic theory and statistical techniques to analyze economic data. The course prepares students for data analyst positions in business, finance, and government. The course is compulsory for students who major in Economics or Finance.

    • making well-founded econometric methodology choices
    • carrying out analyses and interpreting their results using a number of econometric analysis methods
    • carrying out empirical analyses using econometric software with real data
    • drawing up an empirical plan for a research project

    The course is taught in plenary lectures, and students work on and discuss different estimation problems in groups and plenary sessions.

  • Arbeidskrav og obligatoriske aktiviteter

    Five individual assignments for submission. The scope of the assignment (number of pages) varies depending on the nature of the assignment. All the assignments must be approved before a student can take the final exam. If the assignments are not approved, the student will be given one opportunity to submit a new or improved version. The lecturer will provide more detailed information about deadlines for submission.

  • Vurdering og eksamen

    A supervised written four-hour exam is held at the end of the semester.

    Students who become ill or fail an exam are entitled to register for a retake/rescheduled exam in the course in accordance with university regulations relating to studies and examinations at OsloMet.

    An external examiner will grade the exam papers together with an internal examiner.
