Submission of Master's thesis at the Faculty of Education and International Studies

The front page template can be found in Canvas. Remember to add the name of the department and study programme.

The exam should be delivered digitally in Inspera as a singel PDF file. The file must include the complete thesis, including front page, table of contents, list of references and attachments.

Within the deadline, you must also register the title of your master's thesis in Studentweb.

The PDF file delivered on Inspera must be named as follows: Surname_Firstname_studentnumber_COURSECODE

As an example, we have a student named Jane Smith and student number s281188 who will deliver the master's thesis in Product MAPD5900. She should then save the file under the following name: Smith_Jane_s281188_MAPD5900

When you submit the thesis in Inspera, you will first have to answer a few questions about title tags, enter a brief summary (about half a page or about 300 words), as well as answer questions about placing restrictions and licensing.

All theses must have a main title. Master's theses consisting of several articles must have a main title covering the content of all the articles. Master's theses written in Norwegian must also have an English title. The English title will be printed on Transcript of Records. Master's theses written in English, do not need a Norwegian title.

The master’s thesis will be assessed by one internal and one external examiner. 

If the assessment has an oral component, you will be informed about the time and place.

According to regulations relating to studies and examinations at OsloMet - Oslo Metropolitan University, the grading of the master's theses must be completed within six weeks after the submission deadline. 

According to regulations relating to studies and examinations at OsloMet - Oslo Metropolitan University, a student who has been assessed "not passed" on a master's thesis may submit a new or revised master's thesis once. It is not possible to submit a new or revised master's thesis in the same program if the original submission was assessed as passed.

If you choose to publish your thesis in ODA, it can be retrieved in Google Scholar and other search engines. The thesis can also be found in Oria.
