The practical training can be in all arenas where occupational therapists work. Practical training takes place in an interprofessional context in the municipality, specialist health service or in other arenas where occupational therapists work. The programme's location in the city provides opportunities for close cooperation with university hospitals and city districts.

A supervisor from the practical field follows up the student throughout their practical training in cooperation with the contact lecturer from the university. During the first part of the placement, the student, in cooperation with the supervisor, will write a cooperation agreement where the learning outcomes for the placement are specified in relation to how the student achieve them. The cooperation agreement must show how the student will apply theory in practice, and it must be approved by the supervisor and the contact lecturer at the university. The learning outcome descriptions must be concrete, relevant, realistic, and measurable.

The student follows the placement’s rules for clothing. The various establishments may also have special requirements for tests and vaccinations.

Passed first year of an Occupational therapy bachelor program.

Emne 1 omhandler overgang barnehage- skole, digitale og analoge læringsressurser samt lekende og utforskende arbeidsmåter i norsk og matematikk. Sentrale emner er den første lese-, skrive- og matematikkopplæringen i en mangfoldig skole. I undervisningen vil det bli lagt vekt på kreative, lekende og utforskende arbeidsmåter. Kunnskap om og praktisk bruk av digitale arbeidsmåter i begynneropplæringen blir vektlagt.

The practical training lasts for six weeks; four days at the placement and one study day a week. The student will normally follow the working hours of the occupational therapist at the practical training establishment, 7 ½ hours per day and 30 hours per week.

The following must be approved:

• cooperation agreement with specification of the learning outcomes
• attendance requirement of 90%

The assessment is based on the learning outcomes for the course, the cooperation agreement with specification of the learning outcomes and the formative assessment made of the student during the practical training period.

Students’ practical training can only be assessed if their attendance is sufficiently high (90%).
