MSL4100 Organization, Management and Change in the Public Sector Course description

The course covers theories and models for analysing management, organisations and organisational changes with an emphasis on the public sector. The main focus is drivers and conditions for change, rationalisation and reorganisation, and change processes and strategies. The course employs an tool-based approach to organisation and management.

The student is capable of

• applying his/her knowledge and skills to new fields to carry out advanced tasks and projects in administration and public management
• playing an active role in renewal and reform work and contributing critical perspectives to such processes
• applying knowledge and skills in obtaining and using relevant sources, literature and other information, masters reference and quotation techniques, and is capable of defining what constitutes plagiarism and cheating

Teaching is in the form of lectures, student presentations, discussions, group work and assignments. A high degree of independent activity is expected in the course.

The students will submit a presentation note (max. two pages) with a topic and research question for the individual assignment (see the section on assessment), which must be approved by the lecturer.

Students must submit an individual assignment of 5 000 words (+/- 10%) (excluding front page, table of contents, reference list and any appendices). Students choose the topic and research question themselves within the framework of the thematic content of the course. The topic and research question must be approved by the lecturer (see the section on coursework requirements).

A grade scale with grades from A to E for pass and F for fail is used.

Studenten skal gjennomføre veiledede praksisstudier. Studiene organiseres slik at studenten har hovedfokus på anestesi til pasienter klassifisert i ASA-gruppe 3 og 4 og kompliserte inngrep/situasjoner.Det forventes at studenten viser klar faglig fremgang, tar ansvar og viser evne til å gjøre selvstendige vurderinger i utøvelsen av anestesisykepleie, både i elektive og mer akutte og komplekse situasjoner.

Praksisstudiene organiseres slik at studenten får erfaring med og utvikler kompetanse i anestesisykepleie ved alle hyppig forekommende sykdomstilstander, sentrale behandlingsformer og ulike pasientsituasjoner. Som et minimum kreves det at studenten får erfaring med ulike anestesiformer som total intravenøs anestesi, inhalasjonsanestesi, regional og lokal anestesi. Det bør tilstrebes at studenten får erfaring med de anestesiologiske utfordringene ved ulike kirurgiske metoder som større bløtdels-, ortopedisk-, obstetrisk-, øre-nese-hals-kirurgi og anestesi ved ulike undersøkelser og behandlinger i og utenfor operasjonsavdelinger. Studenten skal også få erfaring med anestesi til barn og akutt kirurgi, samt håndtering av kritisk syke pasienter i og utenfor sykehus.

MASANPRA20 Praksisstudier i anestesisykepleierens funksjons- og ansvarsområder, trinn 2 må være bestått for å kunne påbegynne dette emnet.
