    On successful completion of this course students are able to:

    • identify and discuss various theories and methods in science and design research
    • identify, discuss and evaluate ethical implications of scientific and professional work
    • select and employ relevant research theories and methods to specific cases
    • discuss and justify the relationship between problem, methods and conclusion
    • integrate academic scientific methods in practice based and creative research
    • plan and complete own research projects

    The most important teaching and learning methods for this course are lectures, seminars, group work, self-study, studio work and tutoring.

    • Attendance of minimum 80%
    • One written assignment

    Individual or group [1] portfolio examination, which consists of:

    • a written assignment outlining the product concept
    • design process documentation
    • a physical 3D product
    • a reflection paper

    The examination result can be appealed against.
