Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student has the following learning outcomes, defined as knowledge, skills, and general competence.
Knowledge
The student knows:
- business and academic behavior in different cultures
- theory of teambuilding and team roles
- how to plan, manage and execute a project
- environmental issues related to engineering work
- systematic innovation practices
- the conventions for different forms of oral and written communication, in English, in informal, formal and academic settings
Skills
The student can:
- plan, manage and execute a project
- plan, write and complete a collaborative report to a high technical standard
- search for, synthesize, critically analyze and correctly reference source material(s)
- communicate in English in business and academic settings, both in terms of written reports and presentations
- hold technical and academic presentations in English for expert and non-expert audiences
General Competence
The student can:
- work in a team to produce a written report on an industrial/academic subject
- function in an multinational and multidisciplinary environment

Additional guest lectures may take place over the course of the semester.
Teaching and learning methods
Lectures, classroom teaching, group work, peer feedback and assessment, practical workshops, individual and group mini assignments.
Course requirements
To pass the supporting courses students must have an attendance rate of at least 80 % and pass the portfolio assessment. Students who do not fulfill these requirements risk not receiving the 10ECTS credits for this course.
Assessment
The portfolio assessment consists of both individual and group work. All parts of the portfolio must be submitted.
Permitted exam materials and equipment
All forms of examination support materials are permitted.

Examiners
Supporting Course teachers will grade each assignment and for the portfolio as a whole.
