ØAADM3100 Strategic Analysis Emneplan

This course advances the student's understanding of the strategy process, content and context. The purpose is to develop individuals that can hold staff positions or consultants within the areas of strategic analysis, planning and strategy process design. Knowledge and skills obtained in this course will be practical and useful in organizations where strategy implementation and organizational change is a part of the challenge.

Knowledge

The student has

• knowledge of theory about the business environment
• knowledge of the notion of strategic capability and purpose
• advanced knowledge of corporate, international and business-level strategy
• knowledge of innovation, entrepreneurship and strategic change
• knowledge of organizing, capabilities and resources
• knowledge of methods of strategy development and evaluation

Skills

The student can

• understand and analyze strategic competitive positions in relation to content and context as well as strategy processes
• engage professionally in strategy development, implementation and evaluation

General competence

The student

• has insight into relevant subjects and professional ethical issues
• can plan and execute varied work tasks and projects in accordance with ethical requirements and guidelines
• can communicate key subject matter such as theories and problems and solutions both in writing and orally
• can exchange views and experiences with others with background in the subject area and through this contribute to the development of good practice
• be familiar with innovative thinking and innovation processes

Lectures and discussions in plenary sessions, group work and other forms of learning methods will be used. This course will be taught in English.

Hand-ins and presentations will be parts of a portfolio. Individual participation is a part of the portfolio evaluation.;Specification of the portfolio:

In order to take the final exam, the portfolio must be approved by the instructor.

Kunnskaper

Studenten har:

• kunnskap om ulike problemstillinger i samfunnsøkonomi
• kunnskap om hvordan menneskelige behov og knapphet på ressurser utgjør hovedelementene i samfunnsøkonomifaget
• kunnskap om produsentenes og konsumentenes tilpasning på et varemarked
• kunnskap om markedets virkemåte og ulike markedsformer
• kunnskap om makroøkonomiske hoved variabler som konjunkturer og inflasjon
• kunnskap om makroøkonomisk politikk
• kunnskap om måling av langsiktig økonomisk vekst og mulige årsaker til økonomisk vekst

Ferdigheter

Studentene kan:

• gjøre rede for samfunnsøkonomiske problemstillinger og ulike modeller for å analysere samfunnsøkonomiske spørsmål
• analysere ulike aktørers tilpasning på et marked og gjøre rede for markedsmekanismer
• gjøre rede for svingninger i et lands aggregerte størrelser og makroøkonomisk politikk

Det kreves ett godkjent arbeidskrav for å få avlegge eksamen. Arbeidskravet består av en innleveringsoppgave. Dersom arbeidskravet ikke godkjennes, gis det mulighet for å levere forbedret versjon én gang. Faglærer vil informere om frister.

Det avholdes en skriftlig skoleeksamen på 5 timer.
