Alternative assessment
If you are a student at the Faculty of Social Sciences and have a disability or a health problem, you can apply for an alternative assessment method than the one specified in the course plan.
You must explain why you cannot complete the assessment method listed in the course plan and include documentation from a healthcare professional.

The application deadline is two month before the exam date.

Use of bilingual dictionary during school exams
At the Faculty of Social Sciences, you have the opportunity to apply for the use of a bilingual dictionary during school exams. You can apply for the entire semester or academic year at once.
For any other permitted aids, refer to the course plan for your subject.
You are responsible for ensuring that the dictionary does not contain any slips, notes, or other materials that may be considered cheating on the exam day, cf. Regulations relating to studies and examinations at OsloMet.
When the exam is testing English proficiency, the use of a bilingual dictionary is not allowed.
How to proceed
- Send in an application for use of bilingual dictionary during school exams – Faculty of Social Sciences (nettskjema.no - in Norwegian)
- Then, bring the dictionary to the faculty's information center at Pilestredet 35. There, the dictionary will be assessed for approval or rejection for use during the exam.
The deadline for the application and contacting the information center in P35 is one week before the first exam date of the semester or academic year you are applying for.

Answering exams in a language other than Norwegian
You can apply to answer the exam in a language other than Norwegian, cf. Regulations relating to studies and examinations at OsloMet. You do not need to apply to answer the exam in Danish or Swedish.

Time off from classes and exams due to religious holidays
Students who are not members of the Church of Norway are entitled to two self-selected days off per year in connection with religious holidays, cf. "Lov om tros- og livssynssamfunn" (lovdata.no).
If mandatory classes or exams conflict with a religious holiday within your faith community, contact the student administration of your study program.
Absence from mandatory classes and/or practice that exceeds the absence limit must be made up according to an agreement between you and the faculty. Legitimate absence grants the right to a postponed exam.
