Teaching and learning methods

The target group for the course are candidates from the PhD programme in Social Work and Social Policy, but it will also be open to PhD students on other programs who wish to study the field in depth.

Internal candidates register the course in their Studentweb and send a summary, maximum one page, of their project to the PhD administration.

External candidates apply through the Søknadsweb. The following documentation must be enclosed:

  1. Confirmation on admission to a PhD program
  2. Summary of your research proposal (approx.one page) and how this PhD course will be relevant for your research project

Maximum number of participants is 15.

Course requirements

None.

Assessment

Test - Practical Skills in Nursing, consisting of 2 parts:

  • Multiple Choice 2 hours. 40 questions 60% right for passing
  • Practical test (modified OSCE test), related to emergency medicine, surgical, medical and geriatric patient care. Implemented station-based.

If one part of the test fails, both parts must be retaken.

The tests set up late in the spring semester.

The exam will be conducted late in the spring semester. Students have three attempts at the exam, in line with other exams.

Permitted exam materials and equipment

None.

Grading scale

Pass/Fail.

Examiners

At least four internal and one external examiner.

The examiners award points based on predefined checklists with criteria based on the learning outcomes in the course descriptions.

Overlapping courses

SKOMP3000 and SKOMPD3000 are fully overlapping.
