  • Introduction

    The exam is graded by an internal and an external examiner.

    A random selection consisting of at least 25 % of the exam papers will be graded by both an internal and external examiner. This will inform the grading of the remaining exam papers.

    After completing the module, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:

    The student

    • has in-depth knowledge of the focus area of the bachelor's thesis

    Skills

    The student is capable of

    • preparing a research question and project outline
    • choosing, giving grounds for and using a relevant scientific method
    • obtaining and discussing relevant research articles and other specialist literature
    • discussing, assessing and reflecting on the research question and choice of methods in relation to findings and results

    General competence

    The student is capable of

    • planning and carrying out varied tasks and projects that take place over time and contribute to theoretical and/or practical development
    • critically reflecting on research ethics issues and guidelines relating to project work
    • disseminating, discussing and presenting the results of his/her own project in writing
  • Teaching and learning methods

    The bachelor's thesis shall be an independent academic work. Seminars and supervision sessions, where students are given the opportunity to develop their topics and research questions, are organised in the fifth semester. Academic supervisors are assigned after the project outline has been submitted within the stipulated deadline. Students with individual assignment are entitled to four hours of academic supervision, and group assignments six hours.

    The following coursework requirements must be met before the student can take the exam:

    • the project outline must be submitted within the stipulated deadline during the 5th semester
    • minimum attendance of 80 % at seminars and academic supervision sessions
  • Assessment

    Exam content: The learning outcomes

    Exam form: Bachelor assignment written individually or in groups of two students over a ten-week period.

    Scope: Individual assignment 8500 words, group assignment 11 000 words, +/- 5 %

    Resit exam

    The student(s) rework the thesis. If a fail grade is awarded for the thesis twice, the student(s) must write a new thesis.

  • Examiners

    Two examiners will assess all the exam papers. An external examiner will assess a minimum of 20 % of the exam papers. The external examiner's assessment shall benefit all the students.
