Introduction
Students are required to attend workshops and to actively participate in classes. The teaching methods used in the course include lectures, seminars, supervision and discussions. The purpose is to develop the students’ knowledge, ideas, practical skills and understanding of the field. Students are expected to find relevant subject matter in addition to the syllabus and are encouraged to use the learning centres and the resources available there.
Required preliminary courses
The following coursework is compulsory and must be approved before the student can take the exam.
- Participation in the course’s mid-term seminar, where the student gives oral presentation of the status of the project
- Attendance in teaching and activities related to the project
When the coursework is conducted as group work, the group is assessed as a whole.
The coursework is assessed as approved/not approved.
Learning outcomes
The exam project is a group work consisting of a practical and a written component that will be assessed together as a portfolio.
The exam submission will be evaluated based on the following:
Practical work
- A practical work that addresses a problem related to the course description.
- Process material for the practical work should be attached
Written part
- A written assignment of approximately 2500 words that discusses the practical work
The exam result can be appealed
Valid absence - fail
Students who do not take the exam due to valid absence, or who are awarded an F grade, can register for a resit/rescheduled exam

One examiner and one co-examiner (assesses a selection of the assignments). External examiners are used regularly.

10 ECTS overlap with KDM2400.

Examiners
All answers are assessed by two examiners. An external examiner is used regularly, at a minimum of every third completion of the course. When selecting answers for external evaluation, a minimum of 10 percent of the answers shall be included, with no fewer than 5 answers. The external examiner’s assessment of the selected answers shall benefit all students.
