Content

The course consists of three main components:

  • Developing knowledge of leadership

  • A written assignment on leadership challenges in his/her own work situation

The knowledge part comprises a critical review and discussion of key topics from the syllabus applied in relation to the students' own employment sector.

In the conduct part of the course, each student and a selection of their colleagues will assess the students' leader conduct in their own position. The students will then prioritise work on specific areas they wish to improve. Here the students will partly work in groups of about six persons and with external process supervisors. The students will participate in discussions about each other's leadership challenges.

Teaching and learning methods

A significant part of the learning will take place through the students' own experiences and work experience. This will be facilitated through group work, exercises and work-related assignments. Between teaching sessions, the students will receive assignments related to the course activities.

Course requirements

Some parts of the course require active participation. There is therefore a compulsory attendance requirement for these parts. Compulsory attendance is considered a coursework requirement and must be complied with in order to take the exam. Compulsory attendance will be stipulated in more detail at the start of the semester.

The students must also submit an individual written assignment. of 8-12 pages related to their own leadership challenges in order to take the exam (see above). The required coursework must be approved before the student can take the exam. If the required coursework submitted is unsatisfactory, an improved version must be submitted within a deadline stipulated by the lecturer.
