Programme description

  • Introduction

    All aids are permitted, as long as the rules for source referencing are complied with.

  • Required preliminary courses

    Pass/fail.

  • Learning outcomes

    All answers are assessed by one examiner.

    An external examiner is used regularly, at a minimum of every third completion of the course. When selecting answers for external evaluation, a minimum of 10 percent of the answers shall be included, with no fewer than 5 answers. The external examiner’s assessment of the selected answers shall benefit all students.

  • Teaching and learning methods

    Online resources on evidence-based practice.

    English-speaking students are recommended to read Hoffmann T, Bennett S, Del Mar C. (2017) Evidence-based practice-across the health professions. Elsevier. Kindly read: Chapter 1 (page 1-12), chapter 2 (page 16-31), and chapter 3 (page 41-46).

  • Course requirements

    The course overlaps 10 ECTS with KREFT6100 The Platform of Knowledge in Cancer Nursing related to Science and Phenomenology 20 ECTS.

  • Assessment

    Individual home examination in the form of a written report. Scope: 2300 words (+/- 10%).

    Students can also choose to write/conduct the examination in Norwegian, Swedish or Danish.

  • Permitted exam materials and equipment

    All aids are permitted, as long as the rules for source referencing are complied with.

  • Grading scale

    Grade scale A-F.

  • Examiners

    All examination papers are assessed by two examiners.
