Required preliminary courses
Coursework requirements from MALK 4000-401, 4000- 402, MALKA 211 and MALKA 212 or equivalent must be approved to participate and submit coursework requirements in MALKA213.

can demonstrate shaping of different types of behavior in animals by using CyberRat software
can design and conduct experiments
can write a manuscript in accordance with principles in the current edition of the APA manual, using data from the experiments
can use the principles for citations and references as given in the current edition of the APA manual

can ask and argue for relevant research questions
can describe methods of experiments
can present results from experiments
can discuss the results achieved in an experiment
Content
Experiments; simulations; APA-manual, manuscripts.
Teaching and learning methods
The course will include lectures, hands-on exercises and discussion of literature. In addition, practical exercises are central to this course. Such exercises include the use of CyberRat software to conduct an experiment, and the employment of the results from this experiment to write a scientific article.

Assessment
Individual written examination (hjemmeeksamen), 3 weeks, maximum 25 pages double spaced Times New Roman size 12 including references.
Exam questions are in English. Students may submit their exams in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English.
