Good voter turnout and new representatives in the Student Parliament

OsloMet students continue the positive trend of higher voter turnout and interest in standing for election is increasing. See who was elected and their issues.

Good voter turnout

Almost 3,000 students exercised their right to vote in this year's election to the Student Parliament. Voter turnout was 12.42 percent. Last year's voter turnout of 13 per cent was the highest in over ten years, with 2996 votes cast. During covid, voter turnout was below 5 percent in 2022 and 8.7 percent in 2023.

Elected representatives

46 candidates stood for election for the 29 seats in the Student Parliament, an increase from last year, and 29 of the candidates were elected to sit in the Student Parliament in 2026.

On the Student Parliament's website, Victoria Skogsletten Dalen, leader of the Student Parliament at OsloMet, states the following:

"We are very pleased that the good voter turnout from last year has been maintained this year as well. This shows that many students care about who will represent them, and that the Student Parliament is perceived as an important voice for OsloMet students."

The Student Parliament is OsloMet's highest student political body, and works to ensure students' participation and influence in issues relating to everyday student life, the learning environment and student welfare.
