Many countries have lower cost levels than Norway, so regular expenses such as housing and food can be less expensive than in Oslo. We recommend you take both the cost level at your exchange desination and any tuition fees into consideration when choosing where to go.
If you are able to sublet your residence and are eligible for sources of funding such a Erasmus + and Lånekassen, going on exchange does not need to much more costly than just staying home.

Tuition fees
At most European universities OsloMet have exchange agreements with, you do not have to pay tuition fees. However, most universities in countries outside Europe require tuition fees. Regardless of any tuition fees abroad, you must pay the semester fee at OsloMet.

Erasmus+ grants
Erasmus+ mobility grants are awarded to all students going to European institutions that have an Erasmus+ agreement with OsloMet. The amount granted depends on the length of your stay and where you are going. As a minimum, Erasmus+ students receive NOK 3800 for 30 days abroad.
In addition, Erasmus+ students only pay the semester fees at OsloMet, and do not pay any tuition fees to the partner institution.
All Erasmus+ students must complete certain documentation upon request. Most students have to complete an online language test, and some are eligible for a language course through Erasmus+(Online Linguistic Support). You will receive more details if you are offered an Erasmus+ exchange.

Grants from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen)
As a rule, international students are not eligible for student loans or grants from Lånekassen (the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund), but there are a few exceptions. For more information, please visit Lånekassen.no
