Erasmus+

There are two types of Erasmus+ Learning Agreement:

• the Erasmus+ Online Learning Agreement (OLA), for student mobility for studies, and
• the Erasmus+ Learning Agreement Student Mobility for Traineeships (LAT).

Regardless of which form you need to complete, please remember that you are responsible for making sure everything is in order with the OLA/LAT before you travel. If this is not in place, you will not receive your Erasmus+ grant.

Student mobility for studies

 If you participate in Erasmus+ student mobility for studies at a university or university college of applied sciences, you must complete a digital learning agreement, the Online Learning Agreement (OLA).

Before you create your OLA:

1. Find courses at the host institution on the advice of your international academic coordinator.
2. Read the OLA user guide before you fill it in; see the link under item 5.
3. Go to  Online Learning Agreement (learning-agreement.eu) – for everything to work as it should, you must use a browser other than Internet Explorer.
4. Click “Login to access your Learning Agreement,” then “Log in with MyAcademicID.” Type “Feide” in the field where you choose your login method and use your Feide username and password to log in.
5. Fill in the OLA as described in the user guide and sign when you are finished. Be careful when filling out the OLA, as there are limited opportunities to make changes after you have signed and submitted it.
6. After you have signed, your study programme and the host institution must sign. You can log in to the Online Learning Agreement (learning-agreement.eu) or use the Erasmus+ App (erasmusapp.eu) to check the status and see whether your study programme and the host institution have signed. “Action time stamped” in the signature field means it has been signed. You will also receive email notifications of changes. You can find out more about what happens after you have signed it, in the OLA user guide.

Student mobility for traineeship

If you participate in Erasmus+ student mobility for traineeship, you must complete an Erasmus+ Learning Agreement Student Mobility for Traineeships (LAT). You will receive the document and help to complete it from your international coordinator.

You can be eligible for an Erasmus+ grant for up to twelve months of exchange if you participate in: 

• Student mobility for studies - a study period of at least 60 days at a European institution that has an Erasmus+ agreement with OsloMet
• Student mobility for traineeship - a traineeship (practical training) of at least 60 days at an institution/organisation/company in an EU/EEA country, Turkey, Serbia, or North Macedonia

The amount of the grant is based on where you are going and how long you will be there. The grant rates may change from one academic year to another year.

You can receive an Erasmus+ grant for up to 12 months at each study level: bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD.

Mobility grant for subsistence 2025/2026

• Student mobility for studies of at least 60 days: 470 euros per month for low-cost countries, or 530 euros per month for high-cost countries.
• Student mobility for traineeship of at least 60 days: 620 euros per month for low-cost countries, or 680 euros per month for high-cost countries.

High-cost countries are Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, and Austria.

Low-cost countries are Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Hungary.

Mobility grant for subsistence 2026/2027

• Student mobility for studies of at least 60 days: 410 euros per month for low-cost countries, or 460 euros per month for high-cost countries.
• Student mobility for traineeship of at least 60 days: 560 euros per month for low-cost countries, or 610 euros per month for high-cost countries.

High-cost countries are Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, and Austria.

Low-cost countries are Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Hungary.

The subsistence grant rates for the academic year 2026/2027 are lower than the previous year. This is due to increased interest in going on Erasmus+ mobilitycombined with no increase in grant funding from the EU.

Travel grant 2025/2026

Everyone who receives a subsistence grant also receives a travel grant. How much you can receive depends on how far you will travel in kilometers and whether you travel green.

The following rates apply:

• 10–99 km: €56 (green travel) / €28 (non-green travel)

• 100–499 km: €285 (green travel) / €211 (non-green travel)

 • 500–1,999 km: €417 (green travel) / €309 (non-green travel)

• 2,000–2,999 km: €535 (green travel) / €395 (non-green travel)

• 3,000–3,999 km: €785 (green travel) / €580 (non-green travel)

• 4,000–7,999 km: €1,188 (green travel) / €1,188 (non-green travel)

• 8,000 km or more: €1,735 (green travel) / €1,735 (non-green travel)

You must use the European Commission’s Distance Calculator (europa.eu) to calculate the travel distance in kilometers. Enter Oslo as the starting point and type the name of your destination. When you do that, several suggestions will appear in a drop-down menu from which you must choose so the calculator can compute the distance.

Travel grant 2026/2027

An Erasmus+ travel grant is only given for travel to Nordic countries unless you travel green.

If you travel green, you can receive both the Erasmus+ green travel grant and travel support from Lånekassen.

Green travel is defined as travelling by environmentally friendly means such as train, bus, carpooling, electric car, or bicycle.

The following rates apply for green travel:

• 10–99 km: €56
• 100–499 km: €285
• 500–1,999 km: €417
•  2,000–2,999 km: €535
• 3,000–3,999 km: €785

If you travel by plane, ferry or other less environmentally friendly means of transport, you are only eligible for Erasmus+ travel supportif you travel in the Nordic region, and the following rates apply: 

• 10–99 km: €28
• 100–499 km: €211
• 500–1,999 km: €309

If travelling outside the Nordic region, you can apply for travel support through Lånekassen.

How do I know which rate applies to me?

 To find out how long your journey is, use the European Commission’s Distance Calculator (europa.eu) to calculate the distance in kilometres. Enter Oslo as the starting point and search for your destination in a drop-down menu. When the locations are set, the calculator can compute the distance.

Students from underrepresented groups

The European Commission, which owns the Erasmus+ programme, wants to make it possible for everyone to go on exchange.

If you find it difficult to go on exchange because you belong to at least one of the categories below, you can apply for an additional grant:

1. Students with children under 18. The grant rate is the same regardless of the number of children and whether you bring the child with you or not.
2. Students with refugee status
3. Students with a permanent disability and chronic illness. This refers to a condition that significantly limits the possibility of participation on the same terms as other students. This may, for example, be physical, cognitive, or psychological barriers that require special support for the student to function in their education. This does NOT include temporary or minor challenges.
4. Students belonging to indigenous peoples and national minorities

The additional grant is 250 euros per month and is added on top of the travel and living grants you receive if you qualify for Erasmus+ exchange.

You must apply for the grant before you go on exchange, preferably before you submit your signed Learning Agreement, or as soon as possible after you have submitted the Learning Agreement to your international coordinator.

The application is available via the online form:

• Studenter fra underrepresenterte grupper: søknad om tilleggsstipend (bokmål) (nettskjema.no)
• Studenter fra underrepresenterte grupper: søknad om tilleggsstipend (nynorsk) (nettskjema.no).

Even if you fall under several categories, you can only receive one additional grant.

If you also have special needs during your stay, you can apply to have the associated costs covered through the Erasmus+ programme.

A fully signed Erasmus+ Learning Agreement serves as your application to receive the grant.

The grant is administered and paid out via OsloMet’s payroll system approximately twice a month. Even though it is a grant, it will therefore appear as salary from OsloMet on your bank statement, and OsloMet will collect information about your tax card in advance. No tax will be deducted. If you need to document that you have received the Erasmus+ grant, you can use the signed Erasmus+ grant agreement.

You will receive 70% of the Erasmus+ grant from OsloMet after you have:

• submitted an approved and signed Erasmus+ Learning Agreement. The exchange period indicated forms the basis for calculating the total grant amount.
• submitted a completed and signed grant agreement

Any remaining grant will be calculated and paid out when you return, and you have:

• completed the stay
• submitted a confirmation-of-stay form to your international coordinator: "Confirmation of stay" for studies eller "Confirmation of stay" for traineeships— if the exchange period is shorter than stated in the Erasmus+ Learning Agreement, the grant will be reduced, and if the period is shorter than 60 days you must repay the grant you have already received.
• submitted the report in the EU Survey Tool. You will receive an email to your student email address with a link to complete the report after you return home. The subject line will be “Erasmus+ Participant Survey.” If you do not submit this report, you risk having to repay all or part of the grant.

If you withdraw from your stay before two months have passed, you must repay the entire Erasmus+ grant.

If the mobility has lasted more than two months when you withdraw, you only need to repay the grant for the remaining time of the mobility.
