Read e-mail in Outlook

Your e-mail account is: username@oslomet.no, e.g. abcde1234@oslomet.no or s123456@oslomet.no. Your password can be changed at tilgang.sikt.no/oslomet.

Outlook and other Microsoft services requires two-factor authentication at login. Read more about this at student.oslomet.no/tofaktorautentisering.

  • Setting up your e-mail client

    Username and password for e-mail account

    • Your e-mail is written as username@oslomet.no. E.g. abcde1234@oslomet.no or s123456@oslomet.no

    • Password: OsloMet password 

    E-mail for for iOS (iPhone/iPad)

    1. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Exchange

    2. Add your e-mail address/account: e.g. abcde1234@oslomet.no or s123456@oslomet.no, and your OsloMet password.

    3. Accept the defaults on the Exchange server settings. Continue the log in with Feide.

    4. Finish the setup by giving the account a name/description.

    E-mail for Android

    1. Go to Settings > Accounts > Add account > E-mail > Exchange

    2. Add your e-mail address/account: e.g. abcde1234@oslomet.no or s123456@oslomet.no, and your OsloMet password.

    3. Accept the defaults on the Exchange server settings.

    4. Finish the setup by giving the account a name/description.

    If setup fails

    If setup fails, you can manually add these settings:

    • Username (e-mail account): username@oslomet.no, e.g. abcde1234@oslomet.no or s123456@oslomet.no

    • Domain: (leave empty)

    • Password: OsloMet password

    • Exchange server: outlook.office365.com

    E-mail for other clients with IMAP

    You can setup your e-mail with IMAP and retrieve your e-mails on any e-mail client, e.g. Mozilla Thunderbird or Mac Mail.

    IMAP:

    Server name: outlook.office365.com
    Port: 993
    Encryption method: TLS

    SMTP:

    Server name: smtp.office365.com
    Port: 587
    Encryption method: STARTTLS

  • Completed your studies?

    Your OsloMet IT account will be closed 30 days after you have finished your studies. Please remember to download or transfer files and e-mails you don't want to lose to a private account.

    If you want to continue using Microsoft 365 Copilot you can find more info at microsoft.com.

  • E-mail security and guidelines

    Your OsloMet e-mail account can only be used to study related activities. Please do not use your e-mail account for commercial activities.

    Your password can be changed at tilgang.sikt.no/oslomet.
