Course history

Introduction

This course covers the formulation and production of non-sterile pharmaceuticals. Important topics include pharmaceutical development, the study of types of pharmaceuticals and their composition, and production with pertaining quality control systems at different levels of production. The course provides a detailed introduction to practical production of non-sterile pharmaceuticals on a small scale, in which quality assurance in the production of pharmaceuticals is central.

Learning outcomes

Language of instruction: Norwegian

The purpose of this course is to further develop the students’ practical competence in psychomotor physiotherapy, both individually and in groups. The course provides a theoretical and practical basis for the significance of relations and communication in clinical practice. Practical training period 2 is started during this course.

Content

10 ECTS credits overlaps with PSYFY6200 in the topic relations and communication.

Teaching and learning methods

The student must have been admitted to the Master’s Programme in Health Sciences - Specialisation in Psychomotor Physiotherapy, and hold Norwegian authorisation as a physiotherapist. The students must have passed the courses MAPFY4100 and MAPFY4200.

It is assumed that the student has access to a practical training establishment/own place of work where they can perform psychomotor physiotherapy treatments on patients.

Course requirements

Work and teaching methods vary between lectures, digital teaching sessions in the form of flipped classroom, supervised skills training and student-active learning methods in the form of group work, seminars and presentations. The course is session-based.

The students will perform psychomotor physiotherapy on patients at their own place of work/practical training establishment.

Assessment

The following must have been approved in order for the student to take the examination:

Coursework requirements that must be approved by the practical training supervisor:  

  • completed group supervision of the student’s practical training
  • individual patient journal in accordance with specified criteria

 Coursework requirements that must be approved by the lecturer: 

  • A minimum of 80% attendance in skills training and scheduled seminars and group work, and supervision of the student’s practical training in groups
  • Lead a movement group over a minimum of 5 times and an individual reflection note based on experiences with group leadership, up to 1200 words

Permitted exam materials and equipment

Project examination in groups of up to three students, in the form of a given topic that is developed during the course. Scope: up to 2,500 words.

Resit examination: If the student is awarded the grade F (fails the written assignment), he/she will be given one (1) opportunity to submit a reworked version.

Examiners

All examination papers are assessed by two examiners. A minimum of 30% of the examination papers will be assessed by an external examiner. The external examiner’s assessment should benefit all students.
