Public health work is society's organised effort to maintain, improve and promote the population's health, both locally and globally. Interventions are directed towards factors that contribute to better health and factors that might represent a health risk. Public health work is concerned with reducing health inequalities through work on equity, accessibility and quality of services.

An increase in disease rates, long term conditions and lifestyle illnesses are expected in the future. This is a consequence of demographic changes and a result of people's health behaviour. Competence in inter-professional and inter-sectoral collaboration in both public and private sectors is crucial to meet challenges.

After completing the module, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:

Knowledge

• The student is capable of giving an account of the framework and organisation of the practical training enterprise

Skills

The student is capable of

• applying knowledge of prosthetics and orthotics to problems, methods and processes at the practical training enterprise
• using discipline-specific methods, tools and equipment in clinical practice at the practical training enterprise
• using clinical reasoning to integrate theory and practice in areas relating to lower limb prostheses
• searching for, discussing and applying specialist literature, articles and research results on lower limbs
• using ICF and outcome measures in a clinical context

General competence

The student is capable of

• identifying and reflecting on professional and ethical issues and dilemmas encountered during the practical training
• practising in accordance with professional ethical guidelines
• taking responsibility and demonstrating initiative, cooperation skills and independence during the practical training
• documenting and presenting user-related work both orally and in writing
• communicating in an empathetic and respectful manner with users, his/her supervisor and other staff at the prosthetic and orthotic company
• reflecting on his/her own work performance and development

The course is taught through joint lectures and exercises. In the exercise sessions, the students work on assignments, both individually and in groups, under the supervision of a lecturer. These sessions will also involve assessing the assignments - both own ones and assignments carried out by fellow students.

In between teaching sessions, the students are supposed to work with exercises. The proposed exercises are directly linked to learning outcomes for the course. Assessing their own and others' solutions will provide the students with insight as to which extent these goals are achieved.

The students will also have the option of handing in certain exercise sets and have these assessed.

Veiledet praksisperiode på 6 uker i en ortopediteknisk virksomhet.

Etter å ha gjennomført dette emnet har studenten følgende læringsutbytte, definert som kunnskap, ferdigheter og generell kompetanse:

Kunnskap

Studenten kan:

• kjenne til grunnleggende sikkerhetsprinsipper om konfidensialitet, integritet og tilgjengelighet
• identifisere vanlige sårbarheter, trusler, trusselaktører, risiko, og angrepsvektorer
• kjenne det grunnleggende om kryptografi og hvordan det brukes for å beskytte data i ro og i transitt
• ha kunnskap om protokoller og standarder og implementeringer relatert til moderne kryptografi
• forstå de forskjellige former for autentiseringsmetoder som kan benyttes
• forklare de forskjellige typene tilgangskontrollmodeller som kan brukes for å ivareta informasjonssikkerhet
• beskrive protokoller og standarder relatert til identitet, autentisering og autorisasjon
• forstå viktigheten med å kontrollere informasjonsflyten inn til og ut av virksomhetens nettverk og mellom sikkerhetssoner
• ha kunnskap om mekanisme for å oppdage uregelmessigheter og hendelser tidlig for å kunne detektere og håndtere dataangrep
• forstå konseptet om sikker programvareutvikling med innebygd personvern
• kjenne til OWASP topp 10 sikkerhetsrisiko
• ha kunnskap om hvordan en sikrer webapplikasjoner og Application Programming Interface (API)

Ferdigheter

Studenten kan:

• anvende sikkerhetsverktøy til kryptering og signering
• anvende programmer for å identifisere og oppdage sårbarheter
• håndheve prinsippet om minst mulig privilegium( principle of least privilege) i tjenester og andre ressurser ved å benytte styringssystem for identitet og tilgang(Identity and access management system)
• skanne og holde oversikt over maskinvare og nettverksutstyr som er tilkoblet virksometensnettverk ved å ta i bruk sikkerhetsverktøy
• filtrere og kontrollere trafikken mellom de ulike sikkerhetssonene i virksomheten og mot internett ved å benytte brannmurteknologi
• detektere og håndtere dataangrep ved å benytte Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
• anvende konseptet om sikker programvareutvikling med innebygd personvern
• utvikle sikre webapplikasjoner ved å bruke standardiserte metoder og protokoller

Generell kompetanse

Studenten kan:

• drøfte og formidle problemstillinger knyttet til sikkerhetsprinsippene konfidensialitet, integritet og tilgjengelighet
• sammenligne, vurdere og gi anbefalinger om bruk og anskaffelse av sikkerhetsløsninger
