Course history
  • Introduction

    Student BEST - Better and systematic team training is a teaching program in collaboration between the nursing, radiography, bioengineering and paramedic education, specialisation in anesthesia nursing (master) at OsloMet and the medical education at University of Oslo. The learning program uses simulation in teams and is used as a training method in receiving and stabilising trauma. The main focus is communication and interaction in an interprofessional group.

    The work requirement is in the 3rd year of study and the students will follow the prior knowledge requirement for the other courses - Passed 1 year, SYKK / SYKP-PRA20 and PRA30 - to be able to participate here.

  • Learning outcomes

    Undervisningsopplegget pågår en uke, men hver student deltar kun i 2 dager. Læringsaktivitetene gjennomføres i tverrprofesjonelle studentgrupper og foregår på SF-enhet ved OsloMet (studenter sykepleie Pilestredet i Pilestredet og studenter sykepleie Kjeller på Kjeller).;

  • Content

    The course consists of the following subject areas, specified below as the number of credits:

    • General chemistry: 7.5 credits
    • Chemical analysis principles: 2 credits
    • Quality assurance: 0.5 credits

  • Course requirements

    In order to be permitted to take the exam, the following must have been approved:

    • a minimum of 90 per cent attendance in laboratory teaching
    • two (2) individual digital tests
    • individual written test in laboratory skills, up to 2 hours
  • Assessment

    Supervised individual written exam, 4 hours

  • Permitted exam materials and equipment

    Book of tables and formulas in chemistry, calculator.

  • Grading scale

    Grade scale A-F

  • Examiners

    All answers are assessed by one examiner. An external examiner is used regularly, at a minimum of every third completion of the course. When selecting answers for external evaluation, a minimum of 10 percent of the answers shall be included, with no fewer than 5 answers. The external examiner’s assessment of the selected answers shall benefit all students.
