Course history

Introduction

Emnet gir en fordypning i materialer som brukes i proteser og ortoser. Her inngår materialenes mekaniske egenskaper og mekanisk design av proteser og ortoser. Sammenhengen mellom bærekraftig design og konstruksjonsmessige krav til hjelpemidlene er sentralt. I tillegg inngår klinisk og produksjonsmessig planlegging og kvalitetsforbedring, helseøkonomi og etikk.  

Emnet dekker også universell utforming, miljøvennlige metoder og bærekraftig utvikling, og belyser utviklingstrender innen material- og konstruksjonsteknologi. Studentene vil også få en innføring i metoder som brukes innen innovasjon, entreprenørskap og tjenesteutvikling.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and competence:

Knowledge

The student masters dynamic project management, including

  • project planning
  • budget control
  • working in a project team
  • client control
  • being familiar with solutions to creative blocks

Skills

The student is capable of

  • coordinating and communicating his/her own project
  • managing and assessing the project’s finances
  • dealing with management aspects of the project, including division of tasks and competence requirements
  • dealing with conflict situations in projects
  • dealing with clients

Competence

The student is capable of:

  • managing and communicating in a design project that integrates ethics and privacy
  • understanding strengths and weaknesses of the project
  • reflecting on his/her own development in the learning process and adjusting it under supervision
  • leading innovation processes in design
  • contributing to sustainable design solutions

Content

En ekstern og en intern sensor vurderer minimum 20 % av besvarelsene. De øvrige vurderes av to interne sensorer. Ekstern sensors vurderinger skal komme alle studentene til gode.

Teaching and learning methods

Students will be taught methodology for project work. They will learn about the different phases and challenges associated with project work. The work will result in a project report describing the different phases and challenges associated with a project. The third-year students will be project managers in the groups.

Course requirements

The following coursework is carried out by the group, is compulsory and must be approved before the student can take the exam:

  • One assignment relating to the customer report that the design office develops together, and that the third-year students are responsible for carrying out.
  • A written reflection note on project implementation that is handed in before the oral exam.

Assessment

Mappevurdering: Fire individuelle oppgaver, totalt omfang 5000 ord (+/- 10 %)

Vekting: Det gis en samlet karakter på mappen. Ved karakterfastsetting teller alle fire (4) oppgavene i mappen likt, men dersom en eller flere av oppgavene blir vurdert til «F» blir også samlet karakter «F».

Ny eksamen: Studenten(e) har anledning til å omarbeide oppgaven(e) i mappen som har fått F èn gang.

Permitted exam materials and equipment

Alle hjelpemidler er tillatt så lenge regler for kildehenvisning følges.

Grading scale

A grading scale from A-F where A is the best grade and F is fail.

Examiners

Two internal examiners. External examiners are used regularly.
