Innledning

This course provides a hands-on experience with the application of novel theories and methods into a specific system in robotics and control. The application topic will be tightly connected to on-going research projects and the relevant laboratories at OsloMet. The topic will be announced one semester prior to the start of the course.

The course comprises of a review of the research challenge, lectures on state-of-the-art theories and methods used in the design of the specific application, practical aspects for the development work. The project work will be in real or virtual laboratory environment. Students will get a holistic perspective on research and development work and hands-on experience with the cutting-edge technologies.

Anbefalte forkunnskaper

Student's scientific background should comply with the the admission requirements of the robotics and control specialization. It is highly recommended that the student has previous knowledge in mathematics, programming, robotics and control. It is recommended that the student has taken the courses ACIT4810 Advanced Methods in Modelling, Simulation, and Control, ACIT4820 Applied Robotics, and Autonomous Systems and ACIT4830 Special Robotics and Control Subject.

Forkunnskapskrav

No formal requirements over and above the admission requirements.

Innhold

Topics covered in this course

  • Application of novel theories and methods into a specific system in robotics and control.
  • Project work related to current research projects at the Mechanical, Electronic and Chemical Engineering department and related laboratories at OsloMet.

Arbeids- og undervisningsformer

The following required coursework must be approved before the student can take the exam:

  • delivery of a written report (3000 words, +/- 10%)
  • delivery of two rounds peer reviews
  • mid-term presentation of literature search

Arbeidskrav og obligatoriske aktiviteter

The examination consists of two parts:

1. An individual written article between 5000 and 10000 words. The article counts 60% towards the final grade.

2. A 20-minute individual presentation. The oral exam counts 40% towards the final grade.

Each part must be passed with at least E to pass examination.

Part 1 of the exam can be appealed, part 2 of the exam cannot be appealed.

New/postponed exam

In case of failed exam or legal absence, the student may apply for a new or postponed exam. New or postponed exams are offered within a reasonable time span following the regular exam. The student is responsible for registering for a new/postponed exam within the time limits set by OsloMet. The Regulations for new or postponed examinations are available in Regulations relating to studies and examinations at OsloMet.

Vurdering og eksamen
