Strengthening the local leadership function at Kjeller with a deputy leader
Malene Wøhlk Gundersen, Head of Section at the University Library at Kjeller, has from March been appointed by the Rector as Deputy Leader to strengthen the local leadership function at Campus Kjeller.
The local leader is responsible for bringing forward considerations related to the operations at Kjeller to the university management.
Head of Department at the Department of Product Design, Einar Stoltenberg, has since June 2024 been the local leader at OsloMet’s campus at Kjeller. He allocates 30 per cent of his working hours to this role. This function is now being strengthened with a deputy leader.
Work increasingly extensive
“There are many exciting developments happening in Romerike now, with several parallel processes and increased complexity. Not least the property search for new premises in Lillestrøm. The work of the local leader is therefore becoming increasingly extensive. It will be fantastic to have Malene join the team here. We will have a coordinating function for activities in Romerike,” says Einar Stoltenberg.
Malene Wøhlk Gundersen will spend 20 per cent of her working hours on the deputy leader role.
“I am really looking forward to contributing to the work. With everything Kjeller has to offer, all the activity across OsloMet and in the region, there are many opportunities. I greatly appreciate the chance to work a bit closer to all of this,” says Wøhlk Gundersen.
The following tasks lie with the local leader, and the deputy leader will assist in this work:
- act as a coordinating link for the operations at Kjeller in the university management meeting
- participate in the university management meeting once per month, and in meetings where relevant matters concerning OsloMet’s operations at Kjeller/Romerike are to be discussed. In addition, a coordinating meeting with the Rector will be held each month
- be responsible for bringing important considerations regarding OsloMet’s operations at Kjeller into the university management meeting, but does not hold direct responsibility for any parts of OsloMet’s operations at Kjeller
- organise activities in line with the area of responsibility, for example regular meetings with selected staff at Kjeller
