Erasmus+

Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sports in Europe.
  • Mobility Grants

You can apply for an Erasmus+ mobility grant if you participate in:

    • Student mobility for studies - a study period abroad lasting a minimum of 60 days at an institution in Europe that has an Erasmus+ agreement with OsloMet or
    • Student mobility for traineeship - a traineeship (practical training) lasting a minimum of 60 days at an institution in Europe that has an Erasmus+ agreement with OsloMet.

How much mobility grant you will receive depends on the type of student mobility (mobility for studies or mobility for traineeship), how long you are away for and where you are going.

    • Student mobility for studies (must last at least 90 days): EUR 410 or 460 per month.
    • Student mobility for traineeship (must last at least 60 days): EUR 560 or 610 per month.

You can only receive an Erasmus+ mobility grant for mobility periods lasting a total of 12 months at each cycle of study (bachelor’s, master's and PhD).

In addition to receiving a mobility grant, you will not have to pay tuition fees at the host institution.

  • Payment

When you participate in student mobility for studies or student mobility for traineeship through Erasmus+, you will receive a mobility grant. An approved Erasmus+ Learning Agreement functions as your grant application. The grant is administered and disbursed by OsloMet.

You will receive 70% of the Erasmus+ mobility grant from OsloMet when you have submitted

    • an approved and signed Erasmus+ Learning Agreement
    • a completed and signed Grant Agreement

You will receive the remaining 30% of the mobility grant from OsloMet when you have:

    • completed the student mobility

    • submitted the form confirming the student mobility

    • submitted a report through «EU Survey Tool”. You will receive a link to the survey tool after you return home.

  • Additional grants

    Students with fewer opportunities

Not all students go on exchange. The EU Commission, which owns the Erasmus+ programme, wants to do something about this.
Therefore, they provide an additional grant of 250 euros per month for the following three groups going on Erasmus+ exchange:

    1. Students with children under 18 years old. The grant amount is the same regardless of the number of children and whether you go on exchange with the child or not.
    2. Students with refugee status
    3. Students with permanent disabilities and chronic illness. The following persons fall under the category students with permanent disabilities or chronic illness: "Students who have long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments which, in interaction with various barriers, may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others" (United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, UNCRPD). This definition is broad but emphasizes that the disability/illness must be permanent.

If you have special needs on exchange, you can also apply for reimbursement of costs related to this through the Erasmus+ programme.

If you fall into one of the three categories, you apply for the additional grant through this web form (nettskjema.no). Even if you fall into several of the categories, you can only receive one additional grant.

    Green travel

If you travel in an environmentally friendly way, you can also get an additional Erasmus+ grant of 50 EUR! It is also possible to receive an additional grant for up to 4 days for the return trip.
