Introduction
This course gives students know-how and skills in the planning of targeted measures. Particular emphasis is placed on the process of setting and defining goals. The students will learn to give grounds for and document implementation of specific measures, write reports, keep patient records and carry out evaluations

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and competence:
Knowledge
The student:
- is capable of explaining the necessity of differentiating between goals and measures
- is capable of explaining goal hierarchies and the criteria for prioritising goals
- is capable of explaining and giving grounds for various forms of single-subject designs (N=1 design)
- has knowledge of evaluation criteria and methods
- is capable of explaining various parties’ responsibilities in a satisfactory planning process
Skills
The student is capable of:
- carrying out a satisfactory planning and goal setting process, emphasising the user’s wishes and self-determination
- explaining and discussing ethical issues relating to planning of measures
- operationalising general goals to specific goals
- describing and implementing consequence analyses in training or care work
- proposing, giving grounds for and implementing a choice of design based on information about behaviour and environmental variables in case descriptions
- planning and giving grounds for the choice of design and implementing changes in his/her own behaviour
Competence
The student:
- is capable of describing the principles of internal control and quality assurance
- has insight into the statutory requirements that apply to documentation and record keeping
Teaching and learning methods
The course includes lectures, self-study, supervised group work, as well as assignments based on case descriptions.
Course requirements
The following required coursework must be approved before a student can receive a final assessment:
- presentation of a case analysis in a group
- presentation of a proposal for a goal setting and training plain
- presentation of a case analysis and a goal setting and teaching plan in a plenary session, group presentations
- individual presentation of a self-change project in small groups
Assessment
Individual home exam, 1 week. Maximum length: 3,200 words.
Resit/rescheduled exam: Individual home exam, 1 week. Maximum length: 3,200 Words.

A grade scale with grades from A to E for pass and F for fail is used.
