Course history

Introduction

Work and teaching methods comprise skills training in activity analysis, project work on universal design, lectures and seminars with case-based teaching and creative design. The course also comprises a short introductory three-day period of practical training with an occupational therapist. The students work individually and in groups.

Required preliminary courses

In order to be permitted to sit the exam, the following must have been approved:

  • a minimum of 80 per cent attendance in scheduled teaching
  • presentation of an analysis of forms of activity, in groups of 4-7 students

Learning outcomes

Individual written assignment to be prepared during the course period, maximum 2000 words. The assignment text will be available to the students from the beginning of the course.

Resit exam: The student will have the opportunity to rework the assignment that has been awarded an F (fail) once.

Content

Emnet skal gi studentene en innføring i ulike begreper og tilnærminger til å forstå døve, hørselshemmede, døvblinde og tegnspråkliges sosiale nettverk, flerspråklighet og transspråking blant tegnspråklige. Videre skal studentene lære om tegnspråkliges interaksjonsmuligheter, mobilitet, mangfold og samfunnsdeltakelse. Emnet skal også gi studenten mulighet til å reflektere over og identifisere sitt profesjonelle og/eller sosiale nettverk av tegnspråklige, og den plass de har i dette nettverket.

All aids are permitted, as long as the rules for source referencing are complied with.

Course requirements

Eksamen vurderes av en intern og en ekstern sensor.

Assessment

All answers are assessed by one examiner. An external examiner is used regularly, at a minimum of every third completion of the course. When selecting answers for external evaluation, a minimum of 10 percent of the answers shall be included, with no fewer than 5 answers. The external examiner’s assessment of the selected answers shall benefit all students.

Permitted exam materials and equipment
