Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and competence:
Knowledge: The student has knowledge of
- the research process
- project work as a method
- the demographic and epidemiological basis for health-promoting and preventive work at the individual and society levels, with particular focus on healthy, vulnerable groups, children, young people and families
- public health and the factors that influence it
- methods in health promotive and preventive work
- group processes and communication
- conflict management
Skills: The student is capable of
- finding and assessing relevant information and specialist literature and presenting it in written assignments in a manner that elucidates an issue of relevance to health promotive and preventive work
- planning and conducting a project, under supervision, in preventive health work based on research-based knowledge and initiating professional development
- applying relevant results from research and development work to innovation processes
Competence: The student is capable of
- identifying issues related to health promotive and preventive work
- disseminating project results in writing
Teaching and learning methods
Dette emnet består av to deler:
- 3.3 Om vurderinger, utredninger og beslutninger i barnevernet
- 3.4 Fordypningsverksted
I 3.3 Om vurderinger, utredninger og beslutningsprosesser i barnevernet, tilegner studentene seg bred kunnskap om vurderinger og beslutninger som må gjøres når barn må flytte i offentlig regi. Studentene skal tilegne seg grundig kunnskap om det rettslige rammeverket for de beslutninger som treffes i barnevernet, fylkesnemnda og de ordinære domstolene. Likedan skal studentene tilegne seg grundig kunnskap om ettervern, fosterhjem og institusjon og om oppfølging av barn samt ungdoms overgang til voksentilværelsen.
I 3.4 Fordypningsverksted gis studentene muligheter til å fordype seg i et aktuelt tema som hører til barnevernspedagogens arbeidsområder. Studentene velger mellom ulike verksteder med relevante barnevernfaglige temaer. Fordypningsverkstedenes innhold vil bli beskrevet nærmere i undervisningsplaner i god tid før studentene foretar sine valg.

Assessment
The assessment is based on the learning outcomes for the course, the student's specification of the learning outcomes and the formative assessment made of the student during the clinical training period, as well as the project assignment written in groups of approx. eight students. Scope of the assignment: 10,000 words (+/- 20 %).
The students will receive supervision from the lecturer throughout the process. Attendance is compulsory in clinical training and in study group sessions with and without the lecturer. If a student's absence exceeds 10%, he/she will fail the course.
Students are responsible for obtaining a copy of their assessment form from the supervisor. The form must be presented to the new supervisor in the next clinical training period.
Permitted exam materials and equipment
All aids are permitted, as long as the rules for source referencing are complied with.
Grading scale
Pass-fail.
Both the process, compulsory activities and project assignment must be passed for the student to be awarded a pass grade in the course.
Examiners
Muntlig eksamen.
