Introduction
Emnet SSA4000 Sosialfaglige teorier og analyser henger sammen med SFF4000 Samfunnsvitenskapelige teorier i sosialfag. Emnet utdyper og eksemplifiserer hvordan ulike teoretiske perspektiver kan anvendes på forskjellige sosialfaglige problemstillinger og viser teorienes relevans i utviklingen av kunnskap. I tillegg viser emnet utviklingslinjer, overgripende sammenhenger og motsetninger innen fagfeltet.

After completing the course, the students are expected to have achieved the following knowledge, skills and general competence:
Knowledge
The students have
- in-depth knowledge and understanding for classic and contemporary theories on social work.
- theoretical tools for analysing phenomena and professional practice relating to care, change and welfare work with children, young people, adults, elderly and families
Skills
The students are capable of
- analysing and discussing issues relating to care, change and welfare work with children, young People, adults and elderly.
- independently applying theoretical perspectives in their own student academic work
General competence
- The students can reflect critically about how theory and perspectives can provide understandings to challenges in social work
Teaching and learning methods
The teaching methods used are lectures and presentations of different texts by the students, groups work and discussions. Students self study comes in addition.
Course requirements
None.
Assessment
The students will take a seven-day individual home exam on a set topic. The scope of the assignment should be approx. 3000 words (+/- 10%).
Permitted exam materials and equipment
Alle hjelpemidler er tillatt så lenge regler for kildehenvisning følges.
Grading scale
A grade scale A-F.
Examiners
The exam papers are graded by one internal and one external examiner.
The external examiner will grade 25 % of the exam papers. The grades awarded for the papers assessed by an external examiner form the basis for determining the level for awarding the different grades. The internal examiner shall take the external examiner's assessment into consideration in the grading of all the exams.
