Introduction
When the students have completed and passed the compulsory courses, they can choose a relevant specialisation from among the different courses offered by the university. Alternatively, the students can suggest relevant areas of specialisation for PSYKPRA2 themselves. The learning outcomes for PSYKPRA2 are also related to the bachelor’s thesis (PSYK3900).

Required preliminary courses
This is a practical course where knowledge and skills acquired from previous courses are used in practical work. The practical training must therefore be taken at establishments where the purpose is to provide training or conduct change work based on concrete issues. Particularly relevant internships in PSYKPRA10 are places where there is a focus on learning or other behavioral change in individuals, such as schools, kindergartens or different parts of the health and care sector. The course is taken full-time over nine weeks, unless otherwise agreed. The average work week is 30 hours, a total of 270 hours for the whole period. Normally, a week in practice will contain 4 days of practice and one study day. Practical training may entail shift work, days, evenings and weekends.

After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and competence:
Knowledge
The student can
- describe the legal basis for the relevant establishment
- explain the establishment’s professional basis and how the purpose of the establishment is described
- describe how the establishment cooperates with other parties
Skills
The student can
- communicate with users, next of kin and other partners
- perform relevant work in a sound manner
- evaluate measures that have been implemented
- explain social validity in connection with behavior-changing measures
General competence
The student
- is capable of proposing and implementing measures that promote coping or quality of life
- knows the principles for quality assurance of his/her own work
- demonstrates academic, relational and professional skills adapted to the establishment in question

Knowledge
The student can:
- explain the purpose of the practical training establishment
- describe the legal basis for the establishment
Skills
The student can:
- measure behavior in expedient ways
- describe expedient methods to establish, increase and maintain behaviour
- propose expedient behaviour to replace inexpedient behaviour
- facilitate generalisation and continuation of behaviour changes
- analyse collected data and presenting these in a graph or figure
- describe social validity…
- communicate with users, next of kin and other partners
General competence
The student
- can discuss ethical issues linked to behavior change
- is capable of discussing ethical issues linked to data collection and observation
- is capable of describing judicial factors that affect data collection and observation, with particular weight on consent, information exchange and storage of personal data
- has professional understanding, relational skills and professional qualifications that are required by the practical training establishment

Course requirements
The practical training requirements are participation in work in the workplace/the establishment, activities that promote the learning outcomes and compliance with the university's general practical training requirements. This general requirements can be found in Canvas.

Assessment
- Approved planning documents for practical training
- Participation in work at the practical training establishment (minimum attendance of 90%)
- Participation at seminars at the university
All required coursework must be approved before the student’s practical training can be assessed.

Grading scale
1. Assessment of practical training
2. Individual written assignment related to practical training, approx. 2,000 words. Special criteria have been developed to assess this. If the report mentions information about people and/or their behavior, OsloMet and the Department for Behavioral Sciences' current rules for privacy and consent must be observed. When a fail grade is awarded for the written assignment, the student is permitted to submit a reworked version.
