Introduction
This course will examine relational skills and group processes both from a social psychological and behaviour analytic perspective. Counselling/supervision skills in practical training will be emphasized. The course will cover behaviour phenomena that are the focus in social psychology.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and competence:
Knowledge
The student can
describe essential behavioural phenomena of social psychology
explain specific fields of research and experiments within social psychology
explain the connection between behavioural analytic theories and practice concerning counselling/supervision
Skills
The student can
discuss behaviour analytic perspectives on behavioural phenomena within social psychology
explain the motivation theory on the basis of a social psychology and a behaviour analytic perspective
explain the counselling process and its stages, as well as conducting basic counselling and supervision skills
use different supervision/counselling techniques and effective communication
identify communication that can promote cooperation, trigger conflicts and solve conflicts
in a supervision/counselling process, give positive and corrective feedback
General competence
The student can
describe research from both social psychology and behaviour analysis in the analysis of social behaviour
discuss counselling and supervision from a behaviour analytic perspective
complete efficiently leading meetings and groups
Teaching and learning methods
Work and teaching methods in which are included in course are lectures, interteaching, seminars, group work, practical exercises and demonstrations (workshops). The students’ learning outcomes will be documented through the home exam.
Course requirements
To prepare for the examination must the following obtain approved:
Completing 11 minor tests (80% of the answers per test must be correct)
Attendance throughout the day at 4 workshops on mentoring skills
Assessment
Individual written home examination over four days, maximum 3 500 words
Permitted exam materials and equipment
All aids are permitted, as long as the rules for source referencing are complied with.
Grading scale
Grade scale A-F
Examiners
All answers are assessed by one examiner.
An external examiner is used regularly, at a minimum of every third completion of the course. When selecting answers for external evaluation, a minimum of 10 percent of the answers shall be included, with no fewer than 5 answers. The external examiner’s assessment of the selected answers shall benefit all students.
