Learning outcomes
After completing the module, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:
Knowledge
- The student is capable of giving an account of the framework and organisation of the practical training enterprise
Skills
The student is capable of
- applying knowledge of prosthetics and orthotics to problems, methods and processes at the practical training enterprise
- using discipline-specific methods, tools and equipment in clinical practice at the practical training enterprise
- using clinical reasoning to integrate theory and practice in areas relating to lower limb prostheses
- searching for, discussing and applying specialist literature, articles and research results on lower limbs
- using ICF and outcome measures in a clinical context
General competence
The student is capable of
- identifying and reflecting on professional and ethical issues and dilemmas encountered during the practical training
- practising in accordance with professional ethical guidelines
- taking responsibility and demonstrating initiative, cooperation skills and independence during the practical training
- documenting and presenting user-related work both orally and in writing
- communicating in an empathetic and respectful manner with users, his/her supervisor and other staff at the prosthetic and orthotic company
- reflecting on his/her own work performance and development

Course requirements
One external and one internal examiner will assess a minimum of 20 % of the exam papers. The remaining papers will be assessed by two internal examiners. The external examiner's assessment shall benefit all the students.

The midway and final assessments are made by the practical training supervisor and the contact lecturer at OsloMet. The final decision on whether the course is approved or not is made by the university.
