Introduction
The course provides insight into the literature on collaboration and collaborative management within the public sector and between the public and other sectors of society. Collaborative management will be placed in a theoretical and contextual perspective. Students are presented literature discussing collaboration and collaborative management in different contexts. The course deals with collaboration regarding the formulation and implementation of public policy, innovations in public sectors and service production. Furthermore, the course discusses challenges concerning collaboration across different tiers and sectors of government, and among public, private and third sector actors. Emphasis will be placed on theories on leadership and governance in the context of collaboration, where the differences between hierarchical and more equal relations between actors is elucidated.
The course is taught in Norwegian.
Required preliminary courses
Emnet handler om arkivenes sekundærfunksjon, dvs. om hvordan arkivene blir bevart, beskrevet og brukt for andre formål enn arkivskaperens egne behov. Det legger vekt på teoretiske og metodiske tilnærminger til bevaring og kassasjon, beskrivelse, tilgjengeliggjøring og formidling.
Undervisningsspråk er norsk.

- in-depth knowledge on how collaboration can promote innovation
- thorough insight into how organisational and social factors affect roles and freedom of action to exercise administration and management at different administrative levels
Skills
The student is capable of
- assessing how barriers to collaboration among different actors and orgnaizations can be approached through collaborative management
- assessing in what situations collaborative innovations are appropriate, and the demands such innovation processes put on collaborative management
- assessing different forms of governance and coordination mechanisms
General competence
The student is capable of
- analysing and taking a critical approach to different sources of information and using them to structure and formulate arguments in the field
Teaching and learning methods
The teaching is session-based in the form of lectures, student presentations, discussions, group work and seminars. Students will write assignments between the sessions. A high degree of independent activity is expected. Teaching will be based on examples and cases from the students' practical experiences.

Assessment
For å kunne framstille seg til eksamen må studenten ha følgende godkjente arbeidskrav:
Formidling av arkivfaget, eller et spesifikt aspekt av arkivfaget, for en spesifisert målgruppe (f.eks. ledere, saksbehandlere, skoleelever eller et allment publikum) Oppgaven kan løses individuelt eller i gruppe på inntil 3 personer, og leveres som tekst eller video. Andre formidlingssjangere kan avtales med emneansvarlig. Tekster levert individuelt skal ha et omfang på fire sider. For gruppebesvarelser blir det én side tillegg pr. gruppemedlem (5 sider for to studenter, 6 sider for 3 studenter.) Videoer levert individuelt bør vare i 2-3 minutter; dette tilsvarer 200-300 ord. For gruppebesvarelser blir det 80 ord tillegg pr. ekstra gruppemedlem (280-380 ord for to studenter, 360-460 ord for 3 studenter.)
Arbeidskrav må være gjennomført og godkjent innen fastlagt frist for at studenten skal kunne framstille seg til eksamen. Dersom arbeidskrav ikke blir godkjent, gis det anledning til å kunne levere en forbedret versjon én gang innen angitt frist.

Alle hjelpemidler er tillatt så lenge regler for kildehenvisning følges.
Grading scale
Gradert skala A-F.
Examiners
Det benyttes en intern og en ekstern sensor til sensurering av besvarelsene. Et uttrekk på minst 25 % av besvarelsene sensureres av to sensorer. Karakterene på de besvarelsene som er vurdert skal danne grunnlag for å fastsette nivå på resten av besvarelsene.
