Introduction
I dette emnet skal studentene gjennomføre et praktisk-estetisk prosjekt med tilknytning til fagdidaktikk. I emnet inngår avgrensning, planlegging,gjennomføring og dokumentasjon av en praktisk-estetisk undersøkelse. Undersøkelsen bygger på en selvvalgt problemstilling og i settes i sammenheng med relevante samtidsdiskurser og fagdidaktiske problemstillinger.
Learning outcomes
A practically directed course in project management that provides a thorough introduction to the project work form. This course guides students through fundamental project management concepts and skills that are needed to successfully launch, lead, and realize benefits from projects in the construction industry. Project work in fixed groups is important for the learning outcomes in this course.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcome in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:
Knowledge:
The student
- has the basis for understanding the project management concept and how it enables intended outcomes.
- knows the complexity of modern construction projects and the need for interdisciplinarity and interface management.
- has knowledge of the most common time and cost estimation methods.
- has knowledge of analysis methods such as cost analysis and stakeholder analysis.
- has the knowledge to describe the main categories of project organization structures (project, classic, and matrix)

Skills:
The student is capable of:
- setting reasonable project goals and success criteria.
- understanding the purpose of a Work Break Down Structure (WBS) and how it can be established.
- solving challenges related to resource constraints in the project by means of equalization of resources, time spent, change of relationships, or use of flow/slack.
- using indexes (ex. cost and time indexes) for monitoring project status and for establishing future forecasts.
Competence:
The student is capable of:
- making the right decision to get the desired outcome within the defined cost and quality.
- evaluating and selecting appropriate project organization models based on project characteristics such as duration, size, and complexity.
- collaborating and contributing to interdisciplinary teams, and being able to relate prerequisites for success in project work to one's work situation.
Assessment
The teaching consists of lectures, discussion, case study, and dialogue around the case project, with emphasis on active learning.
Permitted exam materials and equipment
The following coursework is compulsory and must be approved before the student can sit the exam:
- Two written group exercises
- Oral presentation of the group work
Grading scale
- Individual written exam, 3 hours (50%).
- Portfolio assessment with the following portfolio requirements (50%).
- Part 1: Two written group submissions during the semester.
- Part 2: Final project group submission.
Each group should be between 4 to 6 students.
In the case of a new/postponed exam, an improved version of the final project should be provided (part 2 of the portfolio).
