Introduction
The teaching will consist of lectures, voluntary and compulsory exercises building on the theory being taught, and a compulsory individual assignment (project).

Required preliminary courses
An individual assignment (project) and at least 70% of the compulsory home exercises must be approved in order for students to be able to take the exam. Thematically, the project assignment will concern an analysis of a simple structure using FEM software, with a scope of approximately 10 pages. Students who fail to meet the coursework requirements can be given up to one re-submission opportunity before the exam.

Learning outcomes
Individual written exam, three hours.
The exam grade can be appealed.

Teaching and learning methods
All printed and written aids and a calculator that cannot be used to communicate with others.

Course requirements
A grade scale with grades from A to E for pass (with A being the highest grade and E being the lowest pass grade) and F for fail is used in connection with the final assessment.

One internal examiner.
External examiners are used regularly.

The course is based on knowledge acquired in the course BYVE3300 Statics, part of the bachelor's degree programme in civil engineering (OsloMet), or a course with a equivalent learning outcomes.
