Course history

Introduction

The course covers practical and theoretical knowledge relating to the various stages of scholarly communication. The course includes:

  • models for scholarly communication
  • open science and open data
  • publication patterns in different scholarly disciplines
  • bibliometric methods and aims
  • funding models for scholarly publication
  • open access publishing and institutional archives

The language of the course is Norwegian.

Required preliminary courses

Student BEST - Better and systematic team training is a teaching program in collaboration between the nursing, radiography, bioengineering and paramedic education, specialisation in anesthesia nursing (master) at OsloMet and the medical education at University of Oslo. The learning program uses simulation in teams and is used as a training method in receiving and stabilising trauma. The main focus is communication and interaction in an interprofessional group.

The interdisciplinary teaching programme is in the 3rd year of study and the students will follow the prior knowledge requirement for the other courses - Passed 1 year, SYKK/SYKP2100, SYKK / SYKP-PRA21 and PRA30 - to be able to participate here.*

* For year group 2022 at OsloMet, passed the first year of study, SYKK/SYKPPRA20, SYKK/SYKP1060, SYKK/SYKP200 and SYKK/SYKPPRA30.

After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of skills and competence:

Teaching and learning methods

The teaching program lasts one week, but each student only participates for 2 days. The learning activities are carried out in interprofessional student groups and take place at the SF unit at OsloMet (students nursing Pilestredet in Pilestredet and students nursing Kjeller at Kjeller).

Course requirements

The following interdisciplinary teaching programme must have been approved:

  • simulation Student BEST – 2 days

Assessment

The assessment form is an individual written three-day home exam.

The answer must have a scope of approx. 20000 characters including spaces. Font and font size: Arial / Calibri 12pkt. Line spacing: 1.5.

Permitted exam materials and equipment

All written aids are allowed as long as the source reference rules are followed.

Grading scale

Grade scale A-F

Examiners

All exam papers are graded by one internal and one external examiner.

Samme opptakskrav som til master i bibliotek- og informasjonsvitenskap, samt gjennomsnittskarakter C fra bachelorgraden.
