Introduction
Lectures and lab exercises. The exercises will be based on individual and group work, supervised by the lecturer or a student assistant.
Recommended preliminary courses
The course is based on Physics & chemistry MEK1100/Physics MEK1400 and mechanics MAPE1300.
Required preliminary courses
The following coursework is compulsory and must be approved before the student can sit the exam:
- Two compulsory individual assignments
Guidance for the assignments will be provided in the labs.
Learning outcomes
The exam consist of two parts
- an individual assignment/ practical exam (40% of the final grade) of up to 15 pages
- a final 4-hour written exam (60% of the final grade)
Both exams must be passed in order to pass the course.
Exam results can be appealed.
In the event of resit and rescheduled exams, another exam form may also be used or a new assignment given with a new deadline. If oral exams are used, the result cannot be appealed.

The course builds on DATA1500 Databases and DATA1600 Program Development, or similar courses.
Examiners
The course is equivalent (overlaps 10 credits) with ITPE2410. The course overlaps 3 credits with DATS / ITPE2400. When practicing the 3-time rule for registration for the exam, experiments used in equivalent subjects count.
