On successful completion of this course students are able to:

  • derive criteria from concepts that are relevant for construction and material choice
  • display a willingness to collaborate with external partners

  • manipulate materials skilfully through safe and effective operation of machines and other technical production methods

Teaching and learning methods

The most important teaching and learning methods for this course are individual work, group work, lectures, discussions, tutorials and studio courses.

Course requirements

  • One written assignment

  • One group presentation

Assessment

Individual or group[1] portfolio examination. The portfolio consists of:

  • a written assignment describing the product concept
  • design process documentation
  • a reflection paper

The examination result can be appealed against.

No restrictions.

Grading scale

A grading scale of A (highest) to F (lowest) where A to E is a pass grade and F is a fail grade.
