After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and competence:
Knowledge:
The student
- has in-depth knowledge of different anaesthetics and their uses, effects and side-effects
- has in-depth knowledge of all common anaesthesia forms and techniques
- has in-depth knowledge of special circumstances relating to different surgical procedures that have a bearing on the choice and application of different anaesthesia forms, techniques and drugs
- has in-depth knowledge of characteristics of particular patient groups that have implications for the choice and administration of anaesthetics
- has in-depth knowledge of trauma mechanisms, trauma scoring, triage and transport of trauma patients
Skills:
The student
- is capable of analysing and taking a critical approach to existing theories and methods in nurse anaesthesiology
- is capable of analysing and taking a critical approach to theories on the link between illness/injury and the choice of anaesthetics and anaesthesia methods

Supervised individual written exam, 6 hours.
