Introduction
The course focuses on women's sexual and reproductive health and rights from puberty to postmenopause. The sexual and reproductive health of adolescents and young adults is emphasised as part of health-promotion efforts to improve quality of life and public health. The course covers women's health and some reproductive disorders.
Counselling, communication and health education are emphasised as a basis for health-promotion and preventive work in a sexual and reproductive health perspective. Throughout the course, the various topics will be problematised and discussed from different national, global, historical and cultural perspectives with the focus being on values and human rights. Meetings with youths/women often occur in intimate and unpredictable situations. It is important that the students are aware of their own and others' perceptions of women's bodies, gender and sexual rights.
