Required preliminary courses

The teaching consists of lectures and exercises. 

Learning outcomes

The following work requirements are compulsory and must be approved to be admitted to the exam:

  • three of four individual exercises (each exercise takes about 8 hour work)

Students who fail to meet the coursework requirements can be given up to one re-submission opportunity before the exam.

Teaching and learning methods

Type of assessment:: 3 hours individual written exam

Exam results can be appealed.

A resit or rescheduled exam may take the form of an oral exam. If oral exams are used for resits and rescheduled exams, the exam results cannot be appealed.

Course requirements

The following coursework is compulsory and must be approved before the student can sit the exam:

  • course in literature searches and source criticism
  • approved progress schedule
  • two oral presentations.

Assessment

The assessment of the group bachelor's thesis (2-4 students) will be based on the execution of the project, the report, an oral presentation and a poster in English.

1. The execution and oral presentation count 60% and are assessed on the basis of the project's level of difficulty and the students planning, progress, initiative, practical skills, assessment skills, independence and cooperation skills. This part of the project cannot be appealed.

2. The report and the poster count 40% and are assessed on the basis of their academic quality, clear presentation, systematic structure, language, academic references and the students degree of independence in the writing process.

Both parts of the exam must be awarded an E or better in order for the student to pass the course.

Only the grade given for part 2 (the written report) can be appealed.

Permitted exam materials and equipment

One internal examiner. External examiners are used regularly.

If oral exam is been used at new/exposed exam, two examiners are used regularly.
