KDK2110 Art, Space and Dissemination Course description

This programme option provides insight into contemporary art in relation to context and dissemination.

The course focuses on the development of students’ practical artistic approach, dissemination and theoretical skills. The practical artistic approach is combined with art and dissemination theory and dissemination in practice. The course is organised in the form of two projects and concludes with an exam.

The fourth semester of the Bachelor’s programme opens for international student exchange.

Knowledge

·       has insight into different forms of presentation and art dissemination strategies

The course is organised as practical work and theoretical studies. Working with projects is emphasised. This includes both basic training and working with topics chosen by the students themselves. Students are required to attend workshops and to participate in tuition. The teaching methods used in the course are lectures, seminars, supervision and debates. Students are expected to find relevant reading material. Joint presentations and exhibitions will form the basis for discussion and assessment of students’ work.

Project 1: Art, space and installation (individual work):

• A work of installation art

• A reflection paper (1,200 words +/- 10%).

Project 2: Dissemination of art in practice (group work):

•A group work.

• A group report (the number of words depends on the project and will be specified in the project assignment).

• An oral and visual group presentation.

There is a minimum attendance requirement of 80% for compulsory teaching activities.

The coursework requirements are assessed as approved/not approved.

The exam project is individual and comprises the following two interrelated parts

1. A three-dimensional work of art

2. An academic text (2,000  words +/- 10%)

The exam counts for 100% of the grade given.

The exam result can be appealed.

All aids are permitted, as long as the rules for source referencing are complied with.

Grade: A-F

Two internal examiners. The course may be selected for grading by external examiners.
