Course history
  • Introduction

    The teaching consists of lectures combined with exercises, laboratory work and a small project.

  • Recommended preliminary courses

    MEK1000 Mathematics;1000, ELPE1300 Electric;circuits, ELTS2100 Electronics;and;ELI2300 Dynamic;systems.

  • Required preliminary courses

    2 laboratory exercises, 5 hours each.

    1 project in groups (10 hours per student)

  • Learning outcomes

    Individual written exam, 3 hours;

    The exam result can be appealed.

    In the event of a resit or rescheduled exam, an oral examination may be used instead. In case an oral exam is used, the examination result cannot be appealed.

  • Content

    The course includes the following topics:

    • The Fourier transform and signal processing
    • Ultrasound imaging
    • X-ray imaging
    • Magnetic resonance imaging
    • Image reconstruction and tomographic reconstruction.
  • Teaching and learning methods

    A handheld calculator that cannot be used for wireless communication or to perform symbolic calculations. If the calculator’s internal memory can store data, the memory must be deleted before the exam. Random checks may be carried out.

  • Course requirements

    Grade scale A-F.

  • Assessment

    One internal examiner. The course may be selected for grading by external examiners.

    For the continuation exam (resit),;an oral exam can be used, with two internal examiners.

  • Permitted exam materials and equipment

    Builds on ELPE1300 Electric Circuits, MEK1400 Physics, MEK1000 Mathematics 1000;and MEK2000 Mathematics 2000 should be taken in parallel.

    Graded scale A-F

  • Examiners

    One internal sensor. External sensor is used regularly.

    In case of a continuation exam, the exam can be oral with two internal sensors.
