Introduction
Emneplanen bygger på Forskrift om rammeplan for barnehagelærerutdanning (180 studiepoeng), fastsatt av Kunnskapsdepartementet 4. juni 2012.
Bærekraftig utvikling kan knyttes til barnehagens verdigrunnlag, samfunnsmandat og til pedagogisk arbeid i barnehagens hverdag. I Rammeplanen for barnehagen knyttes bærekraftig utvikling til natur, samfunn og kultur. I tillegg til økologi og biologisk mangfold, vil fordypningen ta opp deltakelse og demokrati, sosialt og kulturelt mangfold samt likeverd, solidaritet og rettferdig fordeling. En begynnende forståelse for bærekraftig utvikling innebærer formidling og praktisk arbeid knyttet til barns opplevelser, nysgjerrighet og medvirkning. Det innebærer også at temaet kobles til barns kreativitet og skapende prosesser i barnehagen.
Emnet forbereder studenten på å kunne lede og veilede personalet og barn i varierte praktiske prosjekter knyttet til bærekraftig utvikling i barnehagen.

Teaching and learning methods
The course SYKK/SYKPPRA20 and SYKK/SYKPPRA30 complement each other. In this course, the students will practice independence in planning, carrying out and assessing nursing in acute and chronically ill patients. The prevention of complications and early detection of deterioration in the patients’ condition are key elements. Quality development, patient safety and ethics and health gudiance are also part of the course.
Course requirements
Passed the courses:
- SYKK/SYKPPRA10 The Fundamentals of Nursing/Fundamentals of Nursing 2, 15 credits
- SYKK/SYKP1400 Diseases and Health Deficits, 10 credits
- SYKK/SYKP1300 Pharmacology and Administration of Medicine, 5 credits
- Part 1 of SYKK/SYKPPRA20 Nursing Patients with Acute, Critical and Chronic Diseases 1
or equivalent.
Assessment
After completing the course, the student is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and competence:
Knowledge
The student is capable of
- explaining care pathways an in acute, critical and chronic diseases and treatments
- under supervision, contributing to equal nursing services independent of patients’ gender, ethnicity, religion and view of life, functional impairment, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and age
- explaining the significance of nutrition in the event of disease and challenges linked to obesity, malnutrition and disease-related undernourishment
- assessing factors related to an increased risk of patient injuries or unwanted incidents and contributing to work processes to promote quality improvement and patient safety
- explaining the significance of next-of-kin for the patients’ health and quality of life both when it comes to majority and minority cultures
- explaining key concepts in the nurse’s pedagogical responsibilities: guidance, counselling, health guidance and shared decision-making
- explaining information security in nursing
- explaining package progress in the health service
Skills
The student is capable of
- carrying out and explaining nursing to patients with the most common symptoms, signs of change/deterioration at an early stage, and implementing necessary measures
- implementing national knowledge-based professional procedures and national guidelines
- applying different approaches and methods in health guidance adapted to the individual's needs
- applying educational principles when imparting information, teaching and counselling patients and next-of-kin and communicating across language barriers with the help of a professional interpreter
Competence
The student
- can show responsibility, commitment, independence and follow professional ethical guidelines in meetings with patients, next-of-kin and colleagues
- can reflect on his/her own professional practice and progression
- can reflect on how unwanted incidents can occur and discussing this in relation to professional responsibility in the practice of nursing
- can safeguard the patient’s dignity and integrity and promoting the patient and next-of-kin’s right of co-determination and autonomy
Permitted exam materials and equipment
Practical training: in the specialist health service (medicine/surgery) (7 weeks), includes SF unit and seminars.
Grading scale
Practical training has requirements for attendance 90 %. The student fills in a self-presentation for the start of the practice and self-assessment for the mid- and final assessment. Other compulsory activities are:
- SF unit (wound)
- digital seminar (nutrition)
Examiners
Assessment in practice
The assessment takes its point of departure in given criteria based on learning outcomes for the course, assessment criteria, the continuous assessment, the suitability assessment and compulsory activities carried throughout the practical training. Students’ practical training can only be assessed if their attendance is sufficiently high (90%). If the student has failed the practical training, the whole practical training course must be retaken. This includes associated requirements.
