Content
The course consists of the following subject areas, specified below as the number of credits:
- Pathophysiology and laboratory diagnostics, 7 credits
- Interprofessional communication and interaction, 3 credits
Teaching and learning methods
I bachelorperioden skal studenten dokumentere profesjonskunnskap, videreutvikle kunnskaper om akademisk skriving, samt oppøve begynnende kunnskaper om vitenskapsteori, forskningsetikk og metode. Før utreise deltar studenten i faglige forberedelser og under oppholdet vil det også være faglige arbeidsoppgaver.
Studieoppholdet vil som hovedregel innebære opphold i en eller to institusjoner for barn i et av instituttets partnerland, og et kortere opphold ved en barnehagelærerutdanningsinstitusjon i samme land. Innholdet skal knyttes til kunnskap om kultur, profesjonsutøvelse og barns oppvekstsvilkår i det landet studenten befinner seg, men med et tydelig komparativt pedagogisk perspektiv og diskusjoner om ulike valg og pedagogiske forståelser relatert til det praktiske arbeidet/prosessen man har utført.

Course requirements
In order to be permitted to take the exam, the following must have been approved:
- Part 1, one mandatory seminar with oral presentation of in-depth assignment
- Part 2, a minimum of 80 per cent attendance in scheduled project work
- Part 2, a completed course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of a defibrillator
Assessment
Combined assessment:
- Part 1 - Pathophysiology and laboratory diagnostics: Supervised individual written exam, 3 hours
- Part 2 - Interprofessional project work: Written report from project in groups of 3-5 students, 1,500-2,500 words. The report is submitted at the end of the project.
Students must pass both parts of the exam to pass the course.
Resit exam: If the student(s) is(are) awarded a fail in one part of the exam, this part must be retaken. Groups that fail Part 2 (project work) are given one (1) opportunity to submit a reworked version.
Permitted exam materials and equipment
Part 1: No aids are permitted.
Part 2: All aids are permitted, as long as the rules for source referencing are complied with.
Grading scale
Part 1: A-F.
Part 2: Pass/fail
Examiners
Part 1: All answers are assessed by two examiners. An external examiner is used regularly, at a minimum of every third completion of the course. When selecting answers for external evaluation, a minimum of 10 percent of the answers shall be included, with no fewer than 5 answers. The external examiner’s assessment of the selected answers shall benefit all students.
