Examination in this module has the purpose of ensuring that students are capable of working in accordance with the appropriate principals for health, safety and environment - so that these minimise exposing themselves, others, equipment or environment to unnecessary dangers.
The exam entails an ongoing process of instruction and observation throughout the module, where technicians and tutors evaluate attitudes to work with practical exercises in the department's workshops - their primary focus is to ensure that successful candidates can demonstrate appropriate essential risk assessments.
Additionally candidates must pass an individual written exam, which is intended to further demonstrate requisite understanding of the practical HSE requirements in department workshops.
